Shelter Needs
* For current immediate needs, feel free to call the shelter office

We are unable to accept donations of used clothing items due to the closing of our Friend's Store. Specific clothing needs may be placed on here or Facebook "Ludington Cares" from time to time. 

Otherwise, we recommend donating to one of the local thrift stores that donates back to the local community. 

COVE Shelter    Wish List

 

Cold & Flu Season Needs: Kleenex, Hand Sanitizer,

Cough Drops (adult and children).


FOOD ITEMS:

Fresh, frozen or canned foods, i.e.: ground beef,  chicken legs/strips, lunch meat, hot dogs, etc.  (Wild game and fish is also accepted.)

Frozen or canned veggies        Fruit Snacks

Prepared/frozen or Boxed Meals (i.e. lasagna, salisbury steak,  macaroni and cheese; rice or noodle meals, etc.)

Cereal     Jelly     Mayo     Salt/Pepper     

Other condiments     Sugar

Prepared foods remaining from large gatherings are also accepted. (These donations may be dropped off at any time at the shelter office.)

Mason County Community Foundation Wish List

  • Under $500: Mulch and sand for outdoor playground area - 
  • $500-$1,500: Replacement of dishwasher in shelter kitchen
  • Over $1,500: Client special needs - may include bus tokens, gas cards, seasonal clothing, specialmedications, etc.

Oceana County Community Foundation Wish List

  • Under $500: 4 sets of paints, 4 canvas packs of 24 each, paint brushes, paint pallets and yoga mats forrelaxation therapy for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • $500-$1,500: 12 chair mats to extend the life of office carpet; 5 adjustable standing work stations for healthrelated needs of staff.
  • Over $1,500: Event booth for better visibly at community awareness events: tent with logo and help lineimprinted, tables, chairs, flags, banners. Printing on all four sides of tent, add $671.
